Parish councillors recently received a presentation on the BNED LEADER Programme, which supports the creation of new jobs and investment in existing businesses in the rural areas of north east Derbyshire. The managers of the Programme have asked that the parish council circulate information about the programme throughout the local community.

The BNED LEADER Programme 2014-2020 has been awarded European Funding of €1,713,000 to be used on projects that will create jobs and growth and improve the local economy across North east Derbyshire.

The Programme manages funding which is available to support rural projects in the local area through the Rural Development Programme for England. This total project value is equivalent to approximately £1,370,000 on current exchange rates.

Grant funding is available to grow employment opportunities in the area and the LEADER Programme are keen to hear from proprietors of local businesses who may be in need of new investment funding. To be eligible you must operate a business in the eligible area and fit within one of the following six priorities of the programme as follows:
