Footpath Closure

Today's high winds associated with Storm Doris have forced the closure of a footpath next to Pilsley Primary School as a result of the roof of a nearby sports hall being blown off.

Derbyshire County Council will endeavour to re-open the path as soon as possible when it is safe for pedestrians.

PILSLEY CHILD-MINDING PROVISION SURVEY

Residents of Pilsley and the surrounding areas are being asked to complete a survey on the provision of Childminding facilities in the area. HARDWICK 10K ROAD RACE

The Hardwick 10k Road race will be run again this year on Thursday, 20th July 2017, starting from Station Road, outside the Primary School, at 7.30pm.

Christmas Tree Removal

The Christmas Trees on Parkhouse Green and Church Street are to be removed for recycling on either Sunday, 8th or Monday, 9th January, 2017. Residents are invited to remove any decorations they have put on the trees if they wish to reclaim them before Friday evening (6th) in order that any unclaimed decorations can be removed for re-use, disposal or recycling on Saturday.

The annual Christmas Carol Concert will take place at St Mary's Church, Pilsley at 7.30pm on Wednesday 14th December.

Christmas Trees for Pilsley

The Parish Council is to erect 2 Christmas Trees to celebrate the festive season. One will be on the green opposite St Mary's Church and the second on Parkhouse Green in Lower Pilsley. This is the first time for many years that trees have been erected in the village, but it is hoped that it will be the start of an enduring tradition.

Councillors will undertake an inspection of all children's play areas on Saturday morning (5th November) to review what new play equipment might be best sited at the recreation grounds at Parkhouse Green, Pilsley Miners Welfare, Sampson's Field and Morton Road.
