Police & Crime Commissioner Unveils Commemorative Plaque

The Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner, Hardyal Dhindsa, visited Pilsley's new Sports Pavilion last week to unveil a plaque to recognise the grant funding he provided for the facility from the Proceeds of Crime Fund in Derbyshire.

Pilsley Parish Council and the new village Sports Association were delighted to host Mr Dhindsa and officially recognise his support for the £400,000 project which was opened in June and had been in development for several years whilst the Parish Council worked to pull together the funding to make the project a reality.

Funding for the project was drawn from a number of sources but the grant contribution from the Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner was one of the final contributions which made the project possible. It is very fitting that money recovered from illegal activities in the County can be put towards such great community facilities like the new pavilion.
