‘Closure’ of Parish Council Playgrounds and Skatepark

Further to the Prime Ministers announcement on 23rd March of measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus the Parish Council has to close the children's playgrounds and zip wires on Sampson's Field, Parkhouse and Morton Road recreation grounds with immediate effect. The skatepark on the Pilsley Sports Ground has also been closed for use.

These measures are designed to stop gatherings of groups of people, particularly young people, which could lead to the spread of the virus in the wider community.

Parents are asked to explain this to children and young people in their households and to respect these actions taken by the Parish Council.

This decision will be reviewed in line with the Government's commitments in 3 weeks.

The Recreation Grounds themselves remain open to facilitate exercise, so long as this is undertaken within the Government's instructions with regard to self-isolation and safe distances.

Thank you for your cooperation.
