Newsletter Special - Coronavirus Advice

The parish council has prepared a special newsletter on local information which will help to signpost people to relevant advice and guidance in response to the coronavirus.

This will be delivered to all households in the parish during week commencing Monday 23rd March and a copy is attached to this news item.

‘Closure’ of Parish Council Playgrounds and Skatepark

Further to the Prime Ministers announcement on 23rd March of measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus the Parish Council has to close the children's playgrounds and zip wires on Sampson's Field, Parkhouse and Morton Road recreation grounds with immediate effect. The skatepark on the Pilsley Sports Ground has also been closed for use.

Pilsley Loses Surgery Fight

At its meeting yesterday the Primary Care Co Commissioning Committee gave the go ahead for Staffa Health to close Pilsley surgery with effect from 1st April 2021.

About twenty people including Member of Parliament Mark Fletcher, County Councillor Kevin Gillott and parish councillors attended the meeting but they were not allowed to speak.

Parish Precept 2020/21

The Parish Council has agreed a 5% increase in its 2020/21 precept from £99,990 to £104,990.

The Council provisionally agreed this increase in December 2019 but decided firstly to test public opinion by publicising its intentions on its Facebook page and on its website. No adverse comments were received so the increase was confirmed at the January 2020 Council meeting.

No Change of Heart on Surgery Closure Proposal
